Mt. Enterprise Bond Election - 2021

Dear MEISD family,

To the right is a drawing of where our new construction will potentially take place if the $9.705 million bond passes on November 2, 2021. On the drawing, the new buildings are colored in red. On circle 1 at the northwest side of the campus, is where the new 6,500 sq. ft. cafeteria will be located. It will connect to the north elementary building. On circle 2 on the south side of the current practice football field, is where the new 22,000 sq. ft. secondary building will be located. This building will have a connection to the current JH building (circle D). Directly west of the secondary building (circle 3) is where the new 4,000 sq. ft. band hall will be located. Just north of the secondary building (circle 4) is where the new 8,000 sq. ft. CTE/Ag shop would be located. Buildings 2, 3, 4 and D (JH building) will all be connected under roof.

Remodel/Refurbish/Repurpose areas:

Circle B, on the south central side of the district, is where the administration/board room will be located (this is the current HS science lab, etc.). The current band hall will be refurbished into a ELEM music/choir room. The rock building will house grades 4 & 5…possibly 3rd grade as well. Those classrooms will be gutted and made new on the inside. The current cafeteria will be repurposed into a theater classroom with a small “blackbox” stage area for rehearsals, etc. Buildings C and F will be remodeled and repurposed for the ELEM with new restrooms, classroom remodels, teacher workroom, etc. The current Ag shop (building G) will be the new maintenance area and part of it repurposed into a vehicle/trailer painting area. All portables will be removed. The elementary will have a new playground area for the smaller babies and some areas of the current playground will be replaced. All current restrooms will be remodeled in each building.

The cost to our taxpayers will be in the area of .2960 cents per $100 of valuation. There will be 3 town hall meetings for those that want more information and to ask questions:

Thursday, September 23 @ 7pm in the auditorium…after the JH game

Friday, October 8 @ 5:30pm in the auditorium…before the Overton game

Saturday, October 9 @ 10:30am in the auditorium…after the homecoming parade
